I didn't purchase these with my original order. Later I realized it was a huge hassle to weight luminaries down with sand. And I didn't like the way the luminaries looked after putting sand at the bottom because that part of the luminary gets very dark. The stakes really make installation a breeze and the luminaries stay looking perfect and in place!

if you are putting these lums in your yard, flower beds, or any ground when you can drive a huge nail in, you will want these. i know they have saved my lums from being blown all the way to china. saves having to weight your lums down with sand or pebbles.

We used these with the white luminarias we purchased for our wedding reception. They are easy to use and they keep your luminaires in place and prevent them from being blown around. Much easier to use than weighing your luminaries down with sand or pebbles. No mess to clean up afterwards... just pull up the stake and pick up your luminary. All done!
Best way to secure luminaries
I bought these with my luminaries and they are by far the easiest ways to secure luminaries as long as you are setting them up on a lawn, flower beds or garden... on top of earth so you can push these stakes into the ground. These aren't supposed to rust either.
