Are you ready to add a touch of elegance to your outdoor space with plastic luminarias? Follow these step-by-step installation instructions to create a stunning ambiance for any occasion.
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary materials on hand before starting your setup. You will need plastic luminarias, light source, stakes or materials to secure them. You might need other items, too, like an extension cord if your lighting involves light strings, and possibly a timer so you can automate your luminarias once they are setup.
Step 2: Prepare the Luminarias
It may be easier to start your setup indoors and on a nice sized table. If you bought luminarias with light strings, go ahead and attach the strings to the luminarias by screwing in the bulbs. If you are new to FLIC Luminaries, it may take you a few luminarias to get used to contorting the socket in the small hole slot from the bottom of the luminaria with one hand while your other hand screws the bulb in from the top. Eventually this task will become easy! Partially nest the luminarias in sets of 6 after attaching light string so you can easily carry a set of 6 or 12 outside for your setup. Make sure and SAVE the foam spacers that came with your luminarias for use later when you put them away later. Those spacers help prevent the luminarias from getting stuck together next year!
Step 3: Spread the luminarias out

Spread your luminarias out along the ground in the path where you want them installed. Make sure the power end of the light string is going in the right direction. Also, realize there is a front and back to your luminarias. The striped side of the luminarias are considered the back. Spread all your sets in the lines they need to make then before staking, plug in the first set of luminarias. If a bulb or two are not lit, unplug the entire string before trying to rescrew in the bulbs that are unlit. Failure to do so can create an opportunity for an electrical arc to jump and short out that bulb, and possibly even worse, like several bulbs and the light string fuse, too! Once all the bulbs work, unplug and stake that set down. Move on to the next string by plugging it in the end of your first string. Follow the same rules throughout your installation. If you are using LED tea lights, it is wise to have a tape measure or long ruler to measure out the space you need between luminarias so they appear uniform. You can complete the entire setup and then go back and drop in the tea lights. If you are using the timered version tea lights, have them all together and turn each one on quickly so they will always come on quickly in following days. You just need to turn them on once, at the time you want them to come on every night and they will continue to come on every evening at the same time and will stay on for 5 hours and then off for 19 hours, then recycles every day.
Step 4: Install or adjust your timer
If you buy our light sensitive timer for light strings, you will want the timer sensor facing upwards to the sky, so it then decides when it is almost dark and will come on automatically every night and will run for the hours you have it set for.
Step 5: Enjoy the Ambiance

Step back and admire the beautiful glow of the plastic luminarias. The setup above involves colored LED bulbs inside white luminarias. Whether you're hosting a backyard party, wedding, or simply enjoying a quiet evening outdoors, these luminarias will add a magical touch to any setting.
With these simple step-by-step instructions, you can easily set up plastic luminarias to enhance the ambiance of any outdoor space. Get ready to impress your guests and create a memorable atmosphere for your next event!
